Facebook primaries

The latest installment of my Facebook candidate updates: Not much has changed, though Mike Huckabee (1,820 supporters) has moved up a notch (squeaking past Sam Brownback, 1,802) in the GOP race. Barack Obama still has more supporters than all the other candidates combined (109,847 to 92,752); Rudy Giuliani still has no Facebook profile; Chris Dodd’s (930) profile picture is now a Simpsonesque drawing. There’s also a new “independent” candidate: Ray McKinney (15).

If you want to see each candidate listed, check out the US Politics category in Facebook. From there, you can also link to their official websites, blogs, etc. I’m still compiling each candidate’s figures in my spreadsheet, but am no longer posting them. Instead, I thought it’d be more interesting to see what percentage change there is in candidate support (measured as current support minus previous support, divided by previous support).

The results (in order of their current standing in the polls):

Democrats

Republicans

The figures suggest that Fred Thompson may soon become the GOP front-runner, if his momentum continues. I also wouldn’t count anyone out until they start losing supporters.
