Álvaro García Linera, Bolivia’s vice president, is giving a lecture on “Marxism and Indianism” at Cornell University on September 3. The event is co-sponsored by the university’s Latin American Studies Program.

any chance you can go?

No, I have classes to teach that day. Plus, I'll be driving to Montreal that Wednesday for LASA, so a trip to NYC and back (I teach on Tuesday) is too much for me. It would've been nice, though. But it is going to be webcast, so I might get a chance to catch it there.
