Goodbye, Technorati

I’ve decided to say goodbye to Technorati, which seems to have stopped working properly about a year ago. Since it seems to only randomly index anything, it’s become the last place I look for things. So I’m giving IceRocket a chance, instead. You should also check out Newsvine.

Technorati is dead

Please let me know what you're expecting to have seen indexed that isn't. We've certainly had our share of issues with recent redesigns, data center problems and so forth. As we're accommodating the blogosphere's growth and facing new challenges, we're rapidly growing and adapting and striving to give people what they want to see from the web in real time.

Technorati

It's funny that you should comment on my blog, since I (and many others!) have posted these issues in Technorati's support forums for months. Why no response then?

The basic issue is simple: My site is indexing if I search for it as a site. It IS NOT indexing under the tags when searching generally. So if you click on "http://technorati.com/tag/[tagname]" I get no indication that my site is indexing correctly (or at all!). And this has been a regular issue (if not perhaps the ONLY issue) on Technorati's support forums for some time. Yet the issue has not only never been resolved, most of us have never gotten replies from Technorati.

So I find it ironic that the issue is not addressed on Technorati's support forums, but you seem to somehow find my little blog (I have less than 50 readers on an average day). Why is that?
