Clinton must be kicking her behind for not having ran in 2004. Also, I think, Obama does not have the necessary experience.
I'm not so sure Hillary Clinton could have won in 2004. I remember others thinking the same thing. Had she lost in 2004, she couldn't have run in 2008 (the same way John Kerry & Al Gore won't be running again). So she took the safe bet. That's my opinion.
I agree w/ your take on Obama. He's a great speaker, he's fired up, he's got the vision thing. But he lacks the experience. I think he'd be a terrible president (an amazing candidate, yet, but a terrible sitting president). Though he could surprise. It's surprising that the comparisons to JFK forget that JFK was only president for less than a term, almost got us into nuclear war three times, and made a host of mistakes (Cuba? Vietnam?) that made life difficult for future presidents (not to mention the country & region). Ditto for Edwards.
On the other hand, Clinton isn't a very energetic candidate. But I do think she'd be a great president. As would Richardson (who has lots of foreign policy experience).
I actually think Edwards will win the nomination. Clinton & Obama will brutally hurt each other, then Edwards will step in to replace a collapsed Obama as "not-Hillary" candidate. But it's a long way to the primaries yet, eh?
