Reason’s Jesse Walker provides some interesting advice on how to win the Nobel Peace Prize along w/ a roundup of past winners.

That said: Congratulations to Al Gore. The environment sure needs someone to save it, regardless of why or how.

And how not to win the Nobel prize: invite Ahmadinejad over for tea and cookies.

At least that’s according to Doria Medina. He claims to know from “sources linked to the Swedish government” that Evo was in the run to share the Nobel prize with Gore, but was disqualified after his invitation to Ahmadinejad prompted by Chávez.

Given the secrecy in which the Nobel prize committee operates, I doubt very much that anybody really knows what happened, but it’s still amusing to speculate.
