Javi’s second big week

January 17, 2008

After the bath, getting ready Getting pampered after his bath Drying off Sleepy time Sleepy time (w/ cats!)

These snapshots are from yesterday. But Javi passed the two weeks checkpoint today.

All’s well: He’s not only gained back his birth weight, but gained more than a full pound & grew another inch. He’s starting to get a little fussier, but we’re hoping to get that under control in the next few days.

Next week is the start of classes at Dickinson, so that will be interesting. In about two weeks, K8 goes back to work. We’re hoping to manage the transition.

Good luck! For me this concept of a mother going back to work only three weeks after giving birth still sounds so horrific. That's not enough time to bond with a child. I don't know, maybe you're used to it, to me it sounds awful. But have fun, though, lol. N.

Actually, by the time K8 goes back to work it will have been about five weeks. Plus, she's working only 1-2 days a week, w/ most of the rest of the time at home. So it's not so horrific. And her first two weeks of work coincide w/ my parents visit.

Besides, after three weeks of staying up all night (he wakes up ever 2-3 hours to eat, poop, then fall back asleep), a change of pace is very much appreciated.
