On Monday (Feb 25), Talia Weltman will speak on Afro-Mexican cultural production. Weltman is a PhD candidate at Duke University. Her talk, “Cimarronaje cultural: Towards a Re-mapping of Afromexicanidad” is co-sponsored by the American Studies & Africana Studies programs at Dickinson.
On Tuesday (Feb 26), Mark Wasserman will speak on the 19th century in Latin America. Wasserman is a history professor at Rutgers University, an author of several books on Latin American history. His talk, “Age of Chaos or Golden Age?” is co-sponsored by the History and Spanish & Portuguese departments at Dickinson.
