Sam & Heather's Bad Axe Wedding

No pictures yet (I’ll be sure to post a summer photo update once we’re in Oxford). But I wanted to be sure to give a brief mention to one of this summer’s highlights: My brother’s wedding!

Congratulations Sam & Heather! The wedding in Bad Axe was fun, and gave me a chance to visit one of the few areas of Michigan that I hadn’t yet: the Thumb. It was great to see some new sides of Sam (those of you who’re married should remember your pre/post wedding!), as well as to get to know Heather’s family & sit around a beachfront bonfire watching cargo vessels at night on Lake Huron. Anyhow, I wish Sam & Heather the very best. And I hope we see them again soon!

It was also great getting a chance to sit & chat w/ cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives that I rarely see now that I’ve left the Mitten State. I’m especially happy that Javi got a chance to enjoy Pratt Lake at “Coates Closet,” the little summer cottage that has (so far) seen four generations of Coates family. He also spent good quality time w/ his three cousins, each adorable in her own special way. Finally, a special thanks to Matt & April, who let us stay two nights at their beautifully restored home in Saginaw.
