What this blog is … and is not

Every once in a while I get feedback of various sorts on my blog. Often, these fall into two camps: 1) why don’t I post more about Bolivia news? or 2) why do I let my biases keep me from reporting certain things? Oddly, I the second criticism comes from those who think I’m too anti-MAS and those who think I’m not critical enough of the MAS government.

Update about updates

It’s been ten days since I’ve posted any updates. Clearly, I’ve been quite busy w/ teaching & other university responsibilities (there’s a lot going on), an increasingly precocious 10-month-old son (that’s a good thing), holiday planning, getting sucked into American politics & the “global economic crisis,” and trying to focus on “work-related” writing projects.

Recent publications

Below is a list of some of my recent publications available online or in PDF format. If you have questions, please feel free to send me an email.

Blogroll update

While doing some much-needed updates of my blogroll, I added a little appendage () to blogs that post primarily (if not exclusively) about Bolivia. This way they’re easier to spot.

Goodbye, Technorati

I’ve decided to say goodbye to Technorati, which seems to have stopped working properly about a year ago. Since it seems to only randomly index anything, it’s become the last place I look for things. So I’m giving IceRocket a chance, instead. You should also check out Newsvine.

IE fix

Internet Exploder doesn’t handle layered CSS very well. I’ve fixed the site now so it should work better w/ IE. Let me know if it (still) looks odd. If you’re forced to use Windoze, I recommend Firefox (it’s standards compliant & faster).

About

I’m a political science professor who posts regularly on Bolivian politics. I also occasionally discuss interesting books, pop culture, and daily life with a toddler. I’ve recently moved to Oxford, Mississippi.
